CNC Woodarts cuts over 40 Solid Oak Blocks for Dry docking Large Ship

We took on a large unusual project that involved cutting really large, 100+lbs oak blocks into angled wedges of different sizes. Each angle specific and different. We first trimmed the blocks to rough length, then put them on our large CNC machine and cut away a lot of material. The angles had to be very accurate and we have no saws or cutting tools large enough to cut through the huge 7x12" blocks. So we loaded them up on the CNC in batches and cut away over 5 lbs of material per block. That is 200lbs of wood chips over 40 blocks!!!

Our 4th axis was not functioning correctly at the time so we had to do it the long way suing parallel passes. But after about 2 weeks we had everything cut and ready to go. Placed on pallets, strapped and picked up by Pacific Shipyard.
